Description

Bui Power Authority (BPA) is a Ghanaian state-owned power producer with its head office at 11 Dodi Link in the Airport Residential Area of Accra. It was set up in 2007 to plan, build and operate the Bui hydroelectric project on the Black Volta River, which was completed in 2013. The 404-megawatt Bui Generating Station is Ghana's third-largest hydroelectric plant, after Akosombo and Kpong, and supplies power to the national grid while supporting irrigation and fisheries around the reservoir. BPA has since expanded into renewable energy, building land-based and floating solar plants at Bui, and pursues further hydro and solar projects across Ghana. The authority also manages the Bui township and supports nearby communities with social and environmental programmes. Partners, suppliers and the public can contact the Accra head office by phone or general email.
