Description

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is the government agency responsible for collecting taxes and customs duties in Zambia, with its head office at Revenue House on Kalambo Road, Villa Elizabetha, in Lusaka. Established in 1994, it administers income tax, pay-as-you-earn, value added tax, excise duties, mineral royalties, turnover tax, road tolls and customs at border posts, airports and inland ports across the country. Taxpayers can register, file returns and make payments online through the ZRA tax portal, and the authority has introduced smart invoicing to improve VAT compliance. ZRA also runs taxpayer education, publishes practice notes and guidelines, and works on trade facilitation at borders such as Chirundu and Kasumbalesa. Individuals and businesses can contact the ZRA help desk by phone or email for tax advice and support.
