Université de Douala – University in Douala

The Université de Douala is one of Cameroon's state universities, based in Douala, the country's largest city and economic capital. Created in 1993 as part of a national university reform, it has grown into a large institution with several campuses in the city and tens of thousands of students. Its faculties cover law and political science, economics and applied management, letters and humanities, sciences, and medicine and pharmaceutical sciences, while specialised schools train engineers, teachers for technical education and business managers, including ESSEC and a university institute of technology. The university offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes, as well as professional degrees. The main administration is at the Ange Raphaël campus.
