Description

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) is the regulator of Kenya's information and communications technology sector. Established under the Kenya Information and Communications Act, it took over from the former Communications Commission of Kenya in 2014 and is headquartered at the CA Centre on Waiyaki Way in Westlands, Nairobi. The Authority licenses and regulates telecommunications, broadcasting, postal and courier services, and electronic commerce. It manages the radio-frequency spectrum and numbering resources, sets quality-of-service and consumer-protection standards, type-approves communications equipment, and promotes universal access through the Universal Service Fund. The CA also hosts the National Kenya Computer Incident Response Team (KE-CIRT/CC), which coordinates responses to cybersecurity threats. Operators, investors and consumers with complaints about communications services can contact the Authority by phone or email for licensing, regulatory and consumer enquiries.
