Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation – Heart Foundation in Cairo

The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation is an Egyptian non-profit organisation founded by the world-renowned heart surgeon Sir Magdi Yacoub. Its mission is to provide high-quality cardiac care free of charge to patients in need, especially children, while building research and training capacity in Egypt and Africa. The Foundation established the Aswan Heart Centre in Upper Egypt, which performs complex heart surgery and interventional cardiology procedures and is recognised for its research and training programmes. It is also developing the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in Greater Cairo to expand treatment capacity and research. The Foundation relies on donations from individuals, companies and international partners, and it runs fellowship programmes for young doctors, nurses and scientists.
