Description
Masai Mara Sopa Lodge is a safari lodge on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, about 250 kilometres from Nairobi. It was one of the first safari lodges built in the Mara, which is why its gardens and trees are so mature. The buildings follow the design of traditional African round houses with conical roofs, stretched along the hillside, with the large public areas and swimming pool at their centre. The Mara is famous for its lions, the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Maasai people, and the lodge is close to the Oloolaimutia gate for easy game drives. Facilities include a bar, lounge, restaurant, outdoor boma dining area, swimming pool and gift shop, with TV in the bar and Wi-Fi in public areas. A conference room seats up to 70 people. The lodge is about six hours by road or an hour's flight from Nairobi. Bookings are made through Sopa Lodges by phone or email.
