Description
The Namibia University of Science and Technology, known as NUST, is a public university on Jackson Kaujeua Street in central Windhoek. It grew out of the Polytechnic of Namibia, which was founded in 1994, and became a university in 2015. NUST focuses on career-oriented and applied education, with faculties of engineering and the built environment, computing and informatics, commerce, human sciences and law, health, natural resources and applied sciences. It offers certificates, diplomas, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, and many programmes include work-integrated learning with employers. The university runs centres for entrepreneurship, renewable energy and cybersecurity, and its students take part in innovation and engineering competitions. Distance and part-time study options make it popular with working people. Applicants can apply online for each intake, and the university's main switchboard and email handle admissions and general enquiries.
