Description
Samburu Intrepids is a luxury tented camp on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro (Ewaso Nyiro) River in the Samburu National Reserve in northern Kenya. Operated by Heritage Hotels, the camp sits on raised wooden decks shaded by riverine forest, where the breeze from the river keeps it cool. From the tents, guests often see elephants coming down to drink and crocodiles basking on the banks. The newly renovated tents have four-poster king-size beds and private verandas. Game drives are offered in open-sided vehicles with experienced guides, with a choice of exploring Samburu or the neighbouring Buffalo Springs reserve, home to Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Beisa oryx. Guests can also visit nearby Samburu communities, enjoy the clear equatorial night skies and take in the mountain scenery. The camp is popular with families and photographers. Reservations can be made by phone or email.
