Tongaat Hulett is one of South Africa's oldest and best-known sugar producers, based in KwaZulu-Natal with its head office at Amanzimnyama Hill in Tongaat, north of Durban. The company's history goes back to the nineteenth-century sugar estates of the KwaZulu-Natal coast, and it was formed through the merger of the Tongaat and Hulett businesses.
