Description

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) is the government agency responsible for promoting and marketing Uganda as a tourism destination at home and abroad. Headquartered in Kampala and operating under the Tourism Act, it promotes the country under the Explore Uganda – The Pearl of Africa brand. UTB highlights attractions such as mountain gorilla and chimpanzee trekking in Bwindi and Kibale, safaris in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls national parks, the source of the Nile at Jinja, the Rwenzori Mountains and Uganda's rich culture and heritage. The board organises tourism expos, familiarisation trips and domestic tourism campaigns, and it registers, licenses and grades tourism enterprises such as hotels, tour operators and travel agents to maintain quality standards. Tour operators, investors, travellers and media can contact UTB by phone or email for destination information and tourism enquiries.
