Description

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP) is one of South Africa's newest public universities, established in 2014 to expand access to higher education in Mpumalanga province. Its main campus is in Mbombela (formerly Nelspruit), and it also operates a campus in Siyabuswa. The university offers higher certificates, diplomas, bachelor's degrees and postgraduate programmes in faculties covering agriculture and natural sciences, education, economics, development and business sciences, and information and communication technology. UMP has a particular focus on agriculture, nature conservation, hospitality and tourism, and teacher education, which reflect the province's economy and its proximity to the Kruger National Park. Its modern Mbombela campus includes lecture halls, laboratories, student residences, a library and sports facilities. The university also runs research and community engagement projects in rural Mpumalanga. Prospective students and partners can reach the university by phone or email for admissions and enquiries.
