Description

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) is the state body that builds, runs and manages Ghana's commercial seaports. Its headquarters is in Tema, and it oversees the Port of Tema, the country's largest port and a key gateway for imports and exports in West Africa, and the Port of Takoradi in the Western Region, along with the Tema fishing harbour and dry dock. GPHA plans port development, maintains channels and berths, provides pilotage, towage and marine services, and regulates terminal operators and port users. Tema's modern container terminal handles large container ships, and the authority works with land-linked countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger to move transit cargo through Ghana; it runs liaison offices in the Sahel. Shipping lines, importers, exporters and clearing agents can find port tariffs, notices, schedules and procurement details on the website. Contact the headquarters by phone or email.
