Description
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is the government agency responsible for promoting, developing and regulating tourism in Ghana, with its head office near Haile Selassie Street in South Ridge, Accra. It markets Ghana as a destination at home and abroad through the Visit Ghana brand, highlighting attractions such as the Cape Coast and Elmina castles, Kakum National Park, Mole National Park, the Volta Region's waterfalls and Accra's beaches, festivals and nightlife. The authority also licenses and classifies hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, tour operators and other tourism businesses, sets quality standards and carries out inspections. GTA runs major campaigns and events, including the Beyond the Return initiative and December in GH, which bring visitors from the diaspora and around the world. Travellers, investors and tourism businesses can reach the authority by phone or email for licensing, information and partnerships.
