Federal University of Technology Owerri – University in Owerri

The Federal University of Technology Owerri, known as FUTO, is a federal university in Ihiagwa near Owerri, the capital of Imo State, Nigeria. Founded in 1980, it was one of the first universities of technology in the country. FUTO focuses on engineering, engineering technology, physical and biological sciences, agriculture, environmental sciences, health technology, information and communication technology and management technology, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The university has a large campus with laboratories, workshops and a teaching farm, and a reputation for technical and scientific training. Admission to first degree programmes is through JAMB.
