Description
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is the government body that administers Kampala, the capital of Uganda, on behalf of the central government. It was established under the Kampala Capital City Act of 2010 and replaced the former Kampala City Council. KCCA plans and manages city services including roads and street lighting, drainage, garbage collection and waste management, public health, markets, schools and physical planning. It also issues trading licences, building permits and other city approvals and collects local revenue such as property rates, business licences and parking fees through its eCitie online platform. The authority runs major projects to upgrade roads, junctions and public spaces across the five city divisions. Residents and businesses can reach KCCA by phone, the toll-free line, SMS code or email for services, complaints and feedback.
