Description

The Port Autonome de Dakar is the public authority that manages Senegal's main seaport, located on Boulevard de la Libération in Dakar. Thanks to its position on the westernmost tip of Africa, the port is a natural stop on shipping routes between Europe, South America and the rest of Africa, and it is one of the main gateways for trade in West Africa. It handles containers, bulk cargo, petroleum products, fish and passenger traffic, and serves landlocked Mali through the Dakar-Bamako corridor. Terminal operations are shared with concession holders such as DP World Dakar. The port authority oversees port infrastructure, pilotage, safety and the development of new facilities, including the new port at Ndayane. Shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers and exporters deal with it for port services and tariffs. The authority can be contacted by phone or email for information.
