Description
The Two Oceans Aquarium is one of Cape Town's best-loved attractions, located on Dock Road at the V&A Waterfront. Opened in 1995, it showcases the marine life of the cold Atlantic and warm Indian oceans that meet off the Cape coast, with exhibits ranging from kelp forests, jellyfish and seahorses to sharks, rays, turtles and African penguins. Highlights include the large predator exhibit and the kelp forest, as well as touch pools and interactive displays for children. The aquarium runs educational programmes for schools and the public through its education centre, and its foundation supports turtle rescue, rehabilitation and marine conservation work. Visitors can also book special experiences and events. Tickets can be bought online or at the entrance, and general enquiries go to the aquarium's phone line and email.
