Description

Zeitz MOCAA, the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, is a public, not-for-profit museum in the Silo District of the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Opened in 2017, it is housed in a converted historic grain silo whose sculpted concrete atrium and pillowed glass windows have made the building a landmark of the city. The museum collects, preserves and exhibits contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora, presenting changing exhibitions across many gallery spaces along with film screenings, talks and education programmes for schools and families. Visitors can explore the galleries, browse the museum shop and combine a visit with the restaurants and attractions of the Waterfront. Memberships give regular visitors free access and invitations to events. Ticket, tour, education and general enquiries can be made through the museum's phone line and info email.
