Tanger Med – Port Complex in Tangier

Tanger Med is a major port, logistics and industrial complex on the Strait of Gibraltar, east of Tangier in northern Morocco. Managed by the Tanger Med Special Agency, whose offices are on the Route de Rabat in Tangier, the complex opened its first port in 2007 and has since become one of the largest container ports in Africa and the Mediterranean. It includes container terminals, a passenger and roll-on roll-off port linking Morocco with Spain, hydrocarbon and vehicle terminals, and dedicated rail and road connections. Around the port, Tanger Med zones host industrial and logistics parks where car makers, aerospace, textile and logistics companies serve export markets.
